Rubber diaphragms are used in various industrial applications. In mechanics, a diaphragm is a sheet of a semi-flexible material, usually made of rubber, anchored at its periphery and most often round in shape. Flat rubber diaphragm sheet is usually manufactured with natural rubber or synthetic rubber compounds and reinforcing fabrics. There are also unreinforced fabric sheet for rubber diaphragm for various applications. The fabric reinforced diaphragms usually contain one or more plies of reinforcing fabric for added strength and the strength of the material is measured by its burst strength over an orifice.
